We brought you news of the EP yesterday, and here’s a lovely little video to accompany one of the tracks.
Filmed by Miguel Bidarra & Inês Mendes, using a Canon EF 50mm 1.4, whatever one of them is. I assume it’s a fancy camera. Whatever, it looks real pretty.
Read an in depth review of the full EP from one half of Musikal over at Hyponik.
New visuals from one of the many excellent tracks from SP’s stunning 2011 album ‘Black Up’.
It’s a mark of how good The Bullitts are, that it no longer takes a guest appearance from Jay Electronica to get me excited about them.
Featuring the staggeringly fit Rosario Dawson, this is the latest in singles from their forthcoming début, They Die By Dawn and Other Short Stories.
Musikal can’t get enough of Sampha’s voice.
This is a radio rip. If you were wondering, the track before is TEETH - CNT and the track after is Sinjin Hawke - I’m On One.
“Irritated when I’m not sedated
I fuck her face like I was obligated
And still fucking with them freak hoes
Stank pussy smelling like Cooler Ranch Doritos”
From the nothing-short-of-brilliant NoYork! album. Expect to see that title again in the end of year ‘best of 2011’ Musikal list.

This arrived in our inbox over the weekend. Assuming it was another ‘fine but forgettable’ submission, it disappeared to the bottom of our unread folder. Consider us fools to ourselves.
Mista Encore is from Long Branch, NJ. The above and his recently released EP (available on his label’s website) has dark, smooth beats and better-than-your-average lyrics. There’s a definite The Jealous Guys feel to this chap; that, in our book, is a very good thing.
We’re looking forward to the next instalment from Mr Encore.
One half of Musikal was lucky enough to be in attendance at Elzhi’s show at the Jazz Cafe last night. Predictably, he was incredible. This isn’t Musikal’s footage (ours came out looking and sounding like a shit cine film your Dad took on a summer holiday in the 80s), but for an amateur iPhone (I assume) video, it’s come out very nicely.
From Modeselektor’s new album, Monkeytown, due later this week.
