Video: Wu-Tang Clan - Full ‘Paid Dues’ Festival Set

A veritable treat for you here; the full 50 minutes of Wu’s recent set at the Paid Dues festival in California.

Video: Common - Celebrity (Live On Fallon)

Another day, another quality performance on Jimmy Fallon. You don’t see these kind of acts on Jonathan Ross.

Video: Elzhi - Live At London’s Jazz Cafe

One half of Musikal was lucky enough to be in attendance at Elzhi’s show at the Jazz Cafe last night. Predictably, he was incredible. This isn’t Musikal’s footage (ours came out looking and sounding like a shit cine film your Dad took on a summer holiday in the 80s), but for an amateur iPhone (I assume) video, it’s come out very nicely.

Video: J Cole - Lost Ones (Live On Hip Hop Nation)

So ridiculously tight. It’s pretty easy to imagine J Cole going on to be one of the biggest commercial rappers out there.

If you want to skip the interview and get straight to the performance, hit here.

Video: Oddisee Live In The Boiler Room

Yes, yes and thrice, YES. I’ve said it before and I’ll no doubt say it again; Get Rock Creek Park.

Video: Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre & Warren G - The Next Episode (Live In Cannes)

I’m not sure I’ve forgiven Snoop for his no show (or show and no perform) at Shoreditch House on Saturday, but this, at the Beats By Dre event at Gotha Nightclub in France, goes some way to making up for it.

Video: Lil’ B - Ellen DeGeneres (Live in Old Blue Last, LDN)

A raucous Old Blue Last welcomes The Based God like only an excitable East London crowd can.

Thank you Based God.

Video: Kanye West & Q-Tip - Award Tour

Last night, live hip hop did me wrong. I was due to see Snoop Dogg perform at Shoreditch House, pool-side on the roof-top. Despite being surrounded by what can only be described as ‘fucking tossers’, I was excited. He was due on at 11pm. Midnight passed, still no D O double G. No problem, I was willing to wait. 1am, no. 2 am, nothing. Finally, shortly after 2am, he was spotted, being whisked down the corridor by his entourage. Brilliant, he must be on soon. No. Minutes later the annoucement we’d all been fearing came, he would not be performing at all.

Still, at least I got to stand in the freezing cold, cramped, and with my short fuse being burned out by posh fucking dickheads who think ‘putting your diamond in the air’ to every-single-dry-and-tired-beat-the-warm-up-DJ-plays makes them on a level with Big L.

The party goers at the above Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival had it better, as 2 other members of hip hop royalty perform the Tribe Called Quest classic.

Video: Jay Electronica - Summer Stage, NYC (Live)

Creative Control Presents “JAY ELECTRONICA “ from Creative Control on Vimeo.

I’ve said it before and by jove I’ll say it again. Give us a proper album, Elec. Please. Soon. It’s getting silly now.

Video: Odd Future - Live (Electric Ballroom, Camden, London)

I go to the second night of this, tonight. I fear I’m going to be the oldest person there (and I’m still in my twenties).

Wish me luck.

Video: Shabazz Palaces - Are You? Can You? Were You? (Live)

From their recent show in San Francisco. Come to London, please.

SP’s latest album is streaming in it’s entirety, here. It might just be the best album you’ve heard in 2011.
