I remember first hearing about Japanther when eavesdropping on a middle aged holidaying Brooklynite’s deeply smoked-out conversation on the bus, which has surely got to be one of the better introductions to a new band I’ve had.

In this short excerpt from a show at LA’s Music Box, the New York art project / two piece noise outfit run through three tracks of various frequencies, drums, hypnotic rhythm and more experimental bits and bobs that to these ears sounds like Jackie O’ Motherfucker, but with more testosterone thrown in for good measure.
